How long will it take to see my site listed on the search engines?

After launching, it will take 40 to 50 days for the major search engines (ex: Google, Yahoo, Hotbot) to acquire and display your site.

What is Blue Fox Creative's payment schedule?

We ask for one third of the agreed upon amount at the day of signing. The second third is due at the beginning of mid-project and the balance is due on Launch Day. This payment schedule applies to projects created from our online estimate pages only. Other projects and maintenance contracts are invoiced on a monthly basis.

Is it necessary to have a local company design my website?
No. The telephone and internet will satisfy most communication requirements; however if needed, we’ll be happy to attend personal meetings, too.

What's the difference between static and dynamic pages?
A Static Page is created by a Website Designer and is posted to the server so it can be called-up by a user. It resides on the server at all times. An example of a static page is the front page of a typical web site.

A dynamic page is built on-the-fly by a program residing on the server. The page is instantly built when it’s called-up by the user. An example of a dynamic page is an invoice that appears after a user places an order on an online
shopping cart.

What's an example of a low cost site?

One example is an online brochure comprised of five pages with simple graphics. There is no dynamic content with the exception of a simple “Thank You” page that is returned to the user when he/she hits the send key at the bottom of a “Contact Us” form. There is no use of Flash or animated gifs. The page loads fast, has a professional look, and satisfies the client because its purpose is to inform people about the company.

What's an example of a high cost site?
One example is a site with 40 pages and a front page containing a Flash graphic that changes every time the user revisits the page. The site has an online shopping cart along with a page that allows the customer to post opinions and questions about the products. There’s an online support function that lets the customers chat with the support department in real time. One page allows the client to maintain sections of the website on his/her own. There are five submission forms. One form contains a survey asking questions about the best selling product. The data from this form is saved so the information can be viewed in an Excel spread sheet at a later time.

What is a Webmaster?
His/her job is to maintain and update a website after it has been launched. A Webmaster's job may also include web design.

What is a Web Designer?
A Website Designer is a technical artist who creates websites and in the process, decides how the website will look and how the site’s information will be organized on the browser (ex: Netscape).

What is a Website Developer?
A Website Developer is a programmer who creates and installs programs that run on web servers (ex: Linux/Apache) but not on the surfer’s browser (ex: Netscape). The Developer creates scripts and databases that instruct the server to automatically create web pages. The end result of his / her work is a website containing “dynamically generated” web pages.
